Fantasies Jouvert
Fantasies is an all inclusive Jouvert band, based in Newtown, Port of Spain. As the name suggests, the band gives you the masquerader an opportunity to utilize your imagination to the fullest, using Jouvert as a medium. We put a premium on your enjoyment and fun, as well as on your safety, security and convenience.
Every year we come with a different theme - this year's is Mardi Gras - but what remains constant is the grand time our masqueraders have on the road. Our costumes comprise t-shirts and short shorts for the girls, and t-shirts for the guys. (And for those girls who don't like t-shirts and prefer a more adventurous option, we cater for you too!) Our kind sponsors have enabled us to provide goodie bags with free merchandise and body paint is provided which will allow you to complete the decoration of your body – and other people’s – as you see fit.
Our band is aimed at people who want to maximize their enjoyment at J’ouvert without having to worry about issues like non-masqueraders making a nuisance of themselves in the band, the security of your vehicle, getting drinks on the road and breakfast at the end of it. Indeed our dedication to pleasing you begins long before J’ouvert Morning itself, from the point of registration, through the collection of your package, and contacting us about any queries you might have.
The Fantasies mas camp (opening soon) is located at Emoticons at the corner of Maraval Road and Tragarete Road. The mas camp doubles as a bar, so feel free to drop in for a drink, chat or impromptu lime.
On the day, the route will take you through the streets of St. James and Woodbrook, avoiding known bottlenecks and hotspots, and ensuring that playing J’ouvert with us is as hassle-free as possible. Of course not everyone drinks alcohol so in addition to the wide variety of spirits, beers and cocktails on offer, we will also have a full range of non-alcoholic drinks and water to keep you refreshed throughout the morning.
There might be bigger bands than Fantasies on the road, but our attention to detail and to your enjoyment is second to none. The people that will be chipping alongside you will also be people who just want to have a good time. After all, that’s what Carnival is about.
